Ministers in Training?

Posted on April 17, 2010May 4, 2015 by MinisterBogan

What is up with this “Minister in Training” thing?

First, let me tell you. I do not like the term “Minister in Training.” Each one of us will always be in “training” until we die. We should always be learning something – growing somewhere within ourselves. I feel that no other faith leader, pastor, elder, or whoever, in a religious capacity, has a right to determine the level of “training” within the Body of Christ. It is THE HOLY SPIRIT’S JOB and not theirs. Now, if the “leaders” are speaking solely of the work within their church walls, I can get with it, but not when it comes to the entire Body of Christ – The Church.

Oh No, Please Not the “P” Word!

My friend and I try to avoid speaking the P word. What is the P word you may ask? The P word is PATIENCE.

Why do we avoid the P word? Well, to put it plain and simple, once you pray for patience, another life challenge is likely on the way to strengthen you.

The P word is a good thing, for patience:

  • Corrects our behaviors.
  • Protects us from dangers unseen.
  • Helps us to appreciate and celebrate in due season.
  • Teaches us to provide maturity in areas in our lives where we are weak.
  • Helps us to gain knowledge.
  • Enables us to tolerate others rather than be selfish and think only of ourselves.

Most folks would say that the P word gives us wisdom, too. I am not so sure about that.

The Choices We Make

Posted on December 17, 2009May 4, 2015 by MinisterBogan

As a minister, I have a covenant with God. My covenant responsibilities are to take care of God’s sheep. One responsibility is to provide the spiritual and moral tools to help anyone make good decisions that will not spiritually hinder him or her. Spiritually and morally, I am accountable to each person that I encounter. In addition, I am prophet, so I cannot mess us – oh the pressure! I will be in jeopardy of losing my soul to hell if I do not honor my covenant as a minister and prophet. This is why I do not take my “calling” as a joke nor do I operate in my flesh when I prophesized.
